Estrella Vista is a LEED Platinum affordable housing community on the border of Emeryville and Oakland, completed in 2020 at the convergence of San Pablo Avenue, MacArthur Boulevard, and Adeline Street. Less than a mile from BART, the $64 million development comprises 87 studios through four-bedroom apartments serving working families, older adults, veterans, and households with special needs. Built on a former auto repair site remediated through an EPA grant, the project layers solar PV, solar water heating, and EV charging beneath a Polaris sculpture suspended above the courtyard.
