Kahuku Elderly Hauoli Hale is an affordable housing community for older adults 62+ and adults with disabilities on Oʻahu's North Shore, originally built in 1979 to house former plantation workers. EAH Housing co-developed a comprehensive rehabilitation with Vitus Development, completing the work in 2013 with general contractor Hunt Building Co. on a 75-year ground lease from the City and County of Honolulu. The 64 one-bedroom apartments are arranged in 32 single-story duplexes across six acres, anchored by a community center and powered in part by solar installed during the rehab.
