Elena Gardens is an affordable housing community for families in North San Jose, acquired by EAH Housing in 1995 through a HUD 241(f) LIHPRHA loan to preserve long-term affordability for 168 households. A 2013 renovation modernized 10 buildings across the seven-acre site, originally built in 1975, refreshing one-, two-, and three-bedroom homes alongside a clubhouse, children's play area, and computer learning center. A two-phase solar PV installation through California's SOMAH program now produces 380,000 kWh annually and delivers an estimated $464 in yearly utility savings to each household.
