The Hilarita is one of the earliest affordable housing developments in Marin County, originally developed in 1974 as EAH Housing's third property and initially financed through HUD's Section 236 program. EAH assumed full ownership in 2019. The 102-unit Type III community sits on eight acres in Tiburon overlooking Richardson Bay. A planned rehabilitation will upgrade unit interiors, refresh the facade with new siding, windows, and paint, and add accessible laundry rooms, a community garden, and an elevator to the second-floor community room.
