Markham Plaza I is part of a two-phase affordable housing community developed through the Gateway Project along the Monterey Corridor in San José. Together with Markham Plaza II, the community provides permanent housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness.

Markham Plaza I was upgraded with improvements, including exterior paint, recoating of the existing roof, LED lighting in common areas, and updated appliances and furnishings, enhancing residents’ comfort and energy efficiency.

Amenities across the Markham Plaza campus include a computer room with scheduled classes, a library, TV rooms, a fitness center, a community room, on-site laundry, and a three-story gated parking structure. Three on-site Resident Services Coordinators are available to support residents with a wide range of social services.
