EAH Housing Joins Statewide Rally for Affordable Housing at the California Capitol

EAH Housing staff recently joined housing advocates, the Residents United Network, and state legislators on the west steps of the California State Capitol in Sacramento for Housing California's Advocacy Day Rally - Solidarity in Action.

The day brought together resident leaders, individuals with lived experience of housing insecurity, and community-based developers to raise their voices for homes, health, and opportunity for all.

Conversations centered on "solidarity economics" a shift from individual self-interest toward collective action and the importance of building trust and investing in community-driven solutions.
Legislators also shared updates on key housing policies moving through the state, reinforcing the growing statewide commitment to meaningful affordable housing reform.

The rally kicked off Housing California's annual conference, which featured sessions on preserving aging SRO (Single Room Occupancy) portfolios, advancing green building standards in affordable housing, and strengthening policy solutions across California.
