San Rafael, CA — EAH, now in its 39th year of developing, managing and promoting quality affordable housing in California and Hawaii, has been named “One of the 110 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area” by the San Francisco Business Times, East Bay Business Times and Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal in a survey conducted in February 2005. “We are very honored to be recognized as one of the best employers in the Bay Area. I believe our employees are this company’s greatest resource.” said Mary Murtagh, CEO and President of EAH. “Ninety-five percent of our employees noted they are always thinking about ways to do their job better and over ninety percent said they understood how their specific job helped EAH achieve success.”
Employees of all submitted companies are asked to rate their workplace in several key categories including team effectiveness, retention risk, alignment with goals, trust with co-workers, individual contribution, manager effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, feeling valued, work engagement and people practices.
“We always try to remember that our employees have lives outside of their jobs,” said Karen Belanger, Director of Human Resources for EAH. “Too many organizations become immersed in day-to-day tasks and forget to take care of the individual needs of the employee. EAH is definitely on the right track to retain and attract top-rate individuals.” EAH will continue to evaluate the survey responses in all categories for new opportunities to design an even better work place to serve the needs of its employees.
