Meet the 2025 Rebecca W. Watkin Scholars

Ten EAH Housing residents have been named 2025 Rebecca W. Watkin Scholarship recipients through 10,000 Degrees, supporting their pursuit of higher education and a stronger future.
The Rebecca W. Watkin Scholarship program reflects a shared commitment to equity and access, rooted in the belief that thriving communities grow when everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential. Administered by 10,000 Degrees, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting first-generation and low-income college students, the program provides critical financial support to students living in EAH Housing communities.
This year, 35 students submitted applications. After thoughtful review, the selection committee named ten outstanding recipients for 2025:

- Zachree Maglangit / Villages of Moaʻe Kū, Ewa Beach, HI
- Dina Masoud / Crescent Park, Richmond, CA
- Brandon Meckler-Medrano / San Clemente Place, Corte Madera, CA
- Diego Patricio / Summer Park, Fresno, CA
- Ryan Wu / Hamilton Meadows, Novato, CA
These students are pursuing diverse academic paths at colleges and universities across California, Hawaiʻi, and beyond—from aerospace engineering and construction management to nursing, psychology, film, and business systems.
Supporting Students, Building Futures
The Rebecca W. Watkin Scholarship is part of broader annual scholarship program at EAH Housing in partnership with 10,000 Degrees. This academic year, $80,000 in scholarships were awarded to 32 students living in EAH Housing communities across the North Bay, East Bay, Fresno, and Hawaiʻi.
These scholarships do more than ease financial pressure, they help students stay focused on their studies and career goals, opening doors to long-term aspirations and demonstrating that investment in housing means investment in people and potential.
