Agave Celebrates Wall-Raising Milestone in Altadena

EAH Housing marked a major construction milestone for Agave with a Wall-Raising Ceremony in July 2024, bringing together project partners, local officials, and community members. Located at 2052 Lake Avenue in Altadena, the four-story development will bring 58 new apartment homes to formerly unhoused individuals and people with special needs — EAH Housing's first community in Altadena and its second 100% permanent supportive housing property in Los Angeles County. Homes are reserved for individuals earning 30% of the local Area Median Income.

Designed by FSY Architecture and built by United Building Company, the $40.2 million development offers one- and two-bedroom homes with energy-efficient appliances, walk-in closets, and window coverings. Residents will have access to a central courtyard, common spaces designed to foster connection and stability, on-site laundry, bicycle parking, and 18 parking spaces. In partnership with Union Station Homeless Services, tailored on-site support services will be available to every resident, including access to the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and Coordinated Entry System (CES). Agave is pursuing GreenPoint certification. Funding partners include LACDA, U.S. Bank, and Berkadia.

"Agave is a direct response to the evolving needs of the local Altadena area," said Victoria Knapp, Chair of the Altadena Town Council. "With Union Station Homeless Services on-site, residents dealing with housing insecurity can take advantage of the vital resources they need to feel connected in their new home."
