Marigold West Breaks Ground in West Hollywood: 50 Affordable Homes for Seniors

EAH Housing and the St. Joseph Center have begun building Marigold West, a new affordable housing community with 50 units for seniors aged 62 and up in West Hollywood.

Marigold West is at 1041 North Martel Avenue, one block from Santa Monica Boulevard. It will provide permanent supportive housing with a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments. The five-story building will serve seniors earning up to 60% of the area median income, and 25 units are set aside for people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

"This project shows our commitment to building high-quality, affordable homes that support residents and make communities stronger. Designed by KFA Architecture and constructed by United Building Company (UBC), Marigold West will offer a range of indoor and outdoor amenities that promote wellness, connection, and community.

The community will feature:

• 12 studio apartments (344–383 sq ft)
• 35 one-bedroom apartments (517–648 sq ft)
• 3 two-bedroom apartments (825–966 sq ft)

In addition, all apartments include energy-efficient appliances, window coverings, and walk-in closets Residents will have access to a multipurpose room, common area lounge, on-site laundry, a landscaped outdoor podium deck with seating areas, and a secondary amenity deck for passive recreation and events. 19 subterranean parking spaces will also be available for residents and staff.

This development gives residents the foundational resources needed for a bright future while strengthening the fabric that makes West Hollywood a vibrant community."

Through the St. Joseph Center, a multifaceted social service organization offering outreach and engagement, housing, mental health, education, and vocational programs, residents will have access to wellness programs and services and a dedicated Resource Coordinator. EAH Housing will manage the property.

The Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA), the City of West Hollywood, and Wells Fargo financed the project. Completion is expected in 2026.
